CONVERGENCE MISSION
The mission of Convergence is about building
relationships. Convergence is here to show young
people that there is a church for them and that they
have a voice with us.
We do this by establishing a safe and comfortable
community to introduce people to the “Real Jesus” who is
tolerant and accepting and desires a complete
transformation of our lives.
CONVERGENCE VISION
The vision of Convergence is "Investing in the Lives of
People," through a concept we call, "1 on 1 for
One." Convergence is committed to impacting
people through personal investment, in order to bring
them to know and experience the Christ. Convergence is
non-traditional and is dedicated to breaking the stigmas
that have embarrassed the church and God over the years.
Convergence is a progressive, living, Christ-Community
that wants
to see church done differently.
CONVERGENCE VALUES
We will focus on simplicity of the
message, that Jesus is the Christ the Son of the Living
God.
The original church of Jesus Christ was
non-denominational, non-prejudiced, non-traditional…we
believe in being the same.
Just like the Apostle Paul's example at
the Areopagus (Mars Hill) in Acts 17, we will use anything that will bring
people to Jesus and know the message of Christ.
We will not extrapolate doctrine as an
exercise in our “religious wisdom.”
We will seek out the guidance of triune God for guidance
in our lives and our church.
We will not be afraid to do the non-traditional.
We will stay Biblically sound and Spirit led.
We value authenticity (how we worship, how we live, how
we communicate).
We value relevance. This was main line of Jesus.
We will be committed to teaching people in a way they
understand to bring the message to the untouched and bring
depth of commitment to the touched. (1Cor 9:19-22)
We value old traditions of the church that are
inspiring, relevant, real, awe-provoking.
We ultimately submit completely to the authority and
government of our Almighty triune God. What He says
ALWAYS takes precedence over what any man might say.
We are not seeker-friendly we are seeker-passionate.
We will not water-down God or what God is
doing through the Spirit.
We value worship because it is valuing
the triune God.
We will not be arrogant, prideful,
critical or jealous with our Christianity. We support
all churches who preach the message of Christ. It is
not our place to judge other churches. We are part
of One Holy Church.
We value relationships with other people
and with God. We will be full of honest love
(Romans 12:9) and care for others. We will
not be pretentious.
We will not ask people for money. We do not have a
paid Pastor. We don’t
want this to get in the way of our church’s relationship
with God.
We value the input and participation of our Christ
community. God is on the move, speaking to us
all...and we want to hear what He is saying.
